Answer #1

The resistance can be calculated from Poiseuille’s law for laminar flow
R = 8 \eta l / \pia4
plugging in the values given,
R = [8 x 3 x 10-3 Pa s x 1000 x 10-6 m ] / [ \pi(25 x 10-6m)4 = 1.96 x 1013 Pa m-3s

the resistance of this arteriole is 1.96 x 1013 Pa m-3s

    A particular cylindrical bucket has a height of 50.0 cm, and the radius of its circular cross-section is 15 cm. The bucket is empty, aside from containing air. The bucket is then inverted so that its open end is down and, being careful not to lose any of the air trapped inside, the bucket is lowered below the surface of a fresh-water lake so the water-air interface in the bucket is 40.0 m below the surface of the lake.
