Science and technology has grown hand in hand and brought many changes beneficial to human society.The advancement in the medical technology and research has lead to the Regenerative Medicine.

The term is used to refer the process of regeneration of human cells,tissues or organs and restoring normal functions. It is a branch of translation research in Tissue engineering and molecular biology.

The current challenge in application of regenerative medicine are as following

  • The need of embryonic stem cells for more successful result which causes ethical issues of killing a live or viable embryo
  • The results derived of stem cells not able to regenerate all types of cells
  • Cost expensive
  • Need advanced technology
  • Further research and work to be implemented with the help if a multiple research team
  • Time consuming though it provides a better option for chronic illness.

Yes implants can be completely replaced in mere future with tissues and bones by deriving the cells from the patient itself. Because it can give solution to the organ shortage or demands The main thing being the donor organ rejection can be prevented and success Raye of surgery can be increased.

From a view of bioengineering expert for these type of medicine the government has to support and meet all the needs for conducting further research and implementing regenerative medicine in every healthcare sector.
