Supply chain management deals with the procurement of goods and services till the availability of manufactured goods and services to the final consumers. Logistics or transportation forms an important and critical part of supply chain management. Some companies like pharmaceuticals industry faces a lot of challenge in transportation of the products to the warehouses. Some of the challenges faced are:-

1. Temperature Control:- Pharmaceuticals products need to be stored at a particular temperature level throughout the transportation phase. Temperature control forms an important criteria for the products to be safe for the use of patients . If the temperature fluctuates during the transportation phase then it leads to loss of product in turn which leads to loss for the company.

2. Warehouse Management:- The pharmaceuticals industry has grown double during the recent times with the growth of many hospitals and clinics in the recent years. Proper infrastructure needs to be developed to support the growing needs of the pharmaceutical industry. Warehouse management is one of the major problem faced by the industry.

3.Lack of Coordination:- The need for medicines can arise at any time. There needs to be some coordination between the transportation team and the company so that the required quantity can be made available within a shorter time. If there is lack of coordination,then customers may adhere to cheapest sources.
