Answer #1

Solution to Part 2:

Total Book value of shares as on Feb 5 before stock dividend = $1,480,000 (i.e. total net worth)

book value per share before stock dividend= Total book value/ no. of shares = 1,480,000/ 56,000 = $26.428

Total book value of shares as on Feb 5 after stock dividend = 1,480,000 - (amount of stock dividend to be paid out of retained earnings i.e. 2,80,000*12% =33,600) = $1,446,400

book value per share after dividend = total book value/ no. of shares = 1,446,400/ 56,000 = $25.828

Solution to Part 3:

Total market value of shares as of Feb 5 = Market value per share * no. of shares = $39 per share* 56,000 = $2,184,000

Total market value of shares as of Feb 28 = $35 per share* 56,000 = $1,960,000
