Answer #1

Metal chelates are more stable than non chelate complexes.

Metal chelates contains bidentate ligands such as ethylene diammine (en) or poly dentate ligands such as EDTA. Such ligands forms rings with metal. Hence they are stable. EDTA (Ethylene diammine tetraacetate) is a hexadentate ligand.

Greater is number of donor atoms in polydentate ligands, greater is the stability of metal chelates.

Non chelate complexes contain monodentate ligands such as ammonia. They are least stable.

Hence, the decreasing order of stability is [Ni(EDTA)]^{2-} > [Ni(en)_3]^{2+}>[Ni(NH_3)_6]^{2+}
