Question

l picked ventricular tachycardia. Why would be a GOOD hypothesis that is (specific, testable & reasonable) about the intended drug would have to help patients with ventricular tachycardia. Your group works at a pharmaceutical company that is developing medication to treat these types of heart arrhythmia: e atrial flutter . AV block ventricular fibrillation * ventricular tachycardia Pick ONE of these four types. Do some research and come up with a hypothetical drug to treat this arrhythmia: 1. Provide background on the type of arrhythmia you chose. Describe how it deviates from a healthy cardiac rhythm. Be specific. Your background should be detailed enough to provide adequate rationale for your hypothesis (see #2). [1-2 paragraphs (at least 100 words) plus well-labeled ECGs) 2 Come up with a GOOD hypothesis (specific, testable, reasonable) about the intended effect your drug would have, and the target of your drug. (For example, the intended effect of beta blockers is to lower heart rate, and their target is beta-adrenergic receptors on yocardial cells.) Briefly explain why this effect would treat this particular type of arrhythmia. [3-4 sentences (at least 50 words)) L Design an experiment that would allow you to test your hypothesis. Include descriptions of control and experimental groups, and ther important details of how the experiment will be performed. The ECG lab will be a good reference here. [describe your experiment a step-by-step protocol similar to your lab manual) Assuming your hypothesis is correct, make predictions about the results of your experiment. In other words, describe what your sults would be if your hypothesis is correct. Answer #1

ventricular trachycardia :- it is an abnormally fast heart rate that occurs due to abnormal electrical signle conduction of the lower chamber of heart .normally a heart beats at the rate of 60 -100 beats per minbut in case of ventricular tachycardia heart rate increases more than 120 beats per min that can be diagnosed by electrocardiogram at least three wide QRS complex in a row it mainly occurs due to coonary heart disease, aortic stenosis ,cardiomyopathies ,electrolyte problem or a heart attack

in those who has a normal blood pressure and a stronger pulse rate the arrythmatic medicaion procainamide may be used otherwise immediate cardioversion is recommended. in those cardac arrests due to ventricular tachycardia immediate CPR and defibrilation is recommended bipasic defebrilation ismuch better then monophasic

ANS 2) :- HYPOTHESIS ;- lignocaine is a class 1B antiarrythmic drug and is the first choice of drug for VT at a dose of 1-3 mg/kg and 100mg bolus for cardiac arrest patient that can be repeated after 5-10 min. and the infusion rate should be maintainned at 2-4 mg /min it lso decreases myocardial contraction and toxic levels that can produce parasthesia ,drowsiness and muscular twitching
