For your project, can you please identify the independent and dependent variables and indicate the relationship between them? Why it is necessary to identify these variables for your project?
Below is my PICOT question.
PICOT Question
Does providing education about disruptive, uncivil peer interactions through simulation exercises (I) to staff nurses (P) improve nursing team civility (O) compared to not providing education through simulation exercises (C) over 6 months (T)?
Research Practice Question:
What is the effect of providing education about disruptive, uncivil peer interactions through simulation exercises to staff nurses on improve nursing team civility as measured through Nursing Incivility Scale (NIS) compared to the control group that is not provided education through simulation exercises over six months.
Identifying variables in the study is very important because these are the two important aspects which are interconnected to each other and tells as the relation between both . There are two variables in a study minimum , dependent variable and independent variable . Dependent variable whose value is dependent on that of another and independent variable is that whose variation does not depend on that of another.
The independent variable is the variable which is manipulated during the study . It is the cause of study that changes the dependent variable hence they are important to be identified in a study .
Here, in the given study the independent variable is education about disruptive ,uncivil peer interaction and dependent variable is nursing team civility. In a study these two variables are important and both have a relationship between each other, these two factor gives us information that on changes on independent variables how the dependent variable is affected and how can we use this finding in practical scenario.
By giving eduation about disruptive ,uncivil peer interaction through simulation the study is aiming to find out the effects on the nursing staffs civility. Is it changed or not ?
Tool used to assess is - Nursing Incivility Scale
Two groups are there :-
-control group (no education is provided )
-experimental group ( education is provided)
Duration of study is six months

Can you please identify which is independent and dependent variable? Thanks Abstract Background: Medical Emergency Teams (METs) were developed in response to the low success rate of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The MET process is based on recognizing a patient’s worsening condition early to avoid CPR. MET usage is still sub-optimal in Finland and many other countries. Knowledge regarding its function in practice is scarce. Thus, it is warranted to assess it. Objective: Analyzing the function of MET at Kuopio University...
