1. HIV infections weaken the immune system of the person which result in resurgence in TB

   and this type of infection is called HIV and TB coinfection.

* During continous treatment for TB some of the strains of tuberculosis bacteria shows evolutionary

    change to drugs which used to treat TB (eg; rifampicin,isoniazid).so it leads to resurgence of multi

    drug resistant TB.

2. Other causes of rise in TB

                   * In the case of old age people immune system become weak compared to younger

                        generation which rises the chances of develop TB.

                     * Imigration of people from one place to another result in transfer of new strains in different

                         areas leads to a rise in TB.

                     * Therapies used in cancer treatment like chemotherapy decrease the immune status of

                         person are increase chances of develop or resurgence of TB.

                     * Lung diseases like copd,pneumonia,bronchitis weaken the immune system and normal

                         functioning of lungs and make the patient more susceptible to TB.
