Explain how we get enteric diseases when there are so many enterics already in our bodies.
Answer: Our body has enterics that are good for our body and these let our gut help to protect us by eliminating out some of their dangerous factors that can cause disease whereas enterics from outside the body are not good for our health as it lead to many diseases. The enteric bacteria enter the body through the mouth which are usually spread through contaminated food and water, by contact with animals or their environments, by contact with the feces of an infected person etc. This causes symptoms like diarrhea, fever, or stomach cramps.
Explain how we get enteric diseases when there are so many enterics already in our bodies.
In some cases, our bipedal adaptations have changed areas of our bodies so much that it is difficult (if not impossible) for these areas to perform other functions. For example, our pelvis provides the areas of muscle attachment that we need, but its unusual shape makes human childbirth more difficult. The foot is another area that reflects the impact of bipedal specialization. What foot traits and corresponding functions seen in other primates has been lost in our feet, why would we have lost helpful features...
13.44 When our bodies break down virtually any type of nutrient, we must carry out the following reaction (where "CoA" stands for a compound called coenzyme A). During this reaction, is ATP formed from ADP and phosphate, or is it broken down into ADP and phosphate? Explain your answer. -0-C-CH2 _ CH2-C-0" + HS-CoA + Energy
What parts of our bodies do we rely upon when gathering empirical evidence? Would you consider your day to day living experience and observations as part of empirical evidence? Why?
Parasites infect us all the time. They live in our bodies and in our cells. The brain can provide a perfect environment for parasites because it has structures that prevent many of the immune system’s cells from entering. Millions of people worldwide are infected. Find a brain parasite to report on and write 10 sentences about what it is, where it came from, how you can get it, can it be cured, can it be spread and how? And how...
Health promotion is key for our cardiac patients. When it comes to certain health diseases, patients need to change their lifestyles to be successful in prolonging their life. Examples are a low sodium diet for heart patients. How do we assess our patients to see if they are ready for this change? How do we motivate them to change their lifestyles?
Materials and methods We need to have all our tubes already sterilized, and the petri dish that we are going to use in this experiment. Our dishes must be labelled on the bottom part and the tubes in one side with our initial names, bench number and the number given to the bacteria. Take inoculum tubes, the sterilized tubes, and the plates near to our non-dominant hand. Lift the Bunsen burner: we need to attach the hose of the Bunsen...
Be able to explain how we get 32 ATP when glycogen goes through glycogenolysis, the Krebs Cycle, and the Electron Transport Chain. (In your answer be sure to show how the ATP is calculated mathematically)
Explain the implications for leaders of the statement, “We become most powerful when we give our own power away.” Give examples.
“So, we frame our interventions around prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery (PITR).” And in the prevention areas, as you’ve suggested, we’ve found it very important to go upstream and do primary prevention…” Why is the trajectory of PITR, the best route to take with opioid addiction? Is this the best route to address other chronic diseases? How dos “best practice” fit into this model?
Chapter 2 homework How Do Our Brains Communicate With Our Bodies? Topic: Brain and Behavior Due: September 28, 2018 Title: Write a Seript The activity is to write a script consisting of dialogue between various parts of the brain and body. So, the "actors" become things like the central nervous system the brain, the spinal cord, neurotransmitters, and so on You are to "set the scene" as to what is occurring before the dialogue takes place. .
