1, Federal government play a important role in health care by the establishment of Medicare and Medicaid access to insurance coverage for the US population and expanded health care programs to protect individual by laws, regulations, policies payment system have major contact on private-sector payers..

2, Advantages

Government involved in preventive services, promoted health care efficiency and cost savings . .Medicare coverage for screening test, national coverage decision (NCD) have benefit structure for preventive services..Medicare decision making services, children health insurance program and private sector payers have opportunity for federal health care policy to promote preventive services and address the public health issues..

Disadvantages:

There is decreased flexibility in drugs,treatment options and procedures offered with high- price , existing patient confidentiality standards should be maintained by central government, medical professionals should be filled in government hospital to avoid long waiting and over crowding..Financing and pooling fee for service have dominated form of payment of Physician..Health coverage private, public insurance and public subsidy is not universal..A number of health policies suggest convergence in the role of the state in financing health care..
