grid in which each cell The Pentagonal Game of Life is a variant of the Game of Life played neighbours. Live cells are shown in grey and dead cells are shown in white. The rules are as on a has 5 S follows: . Two cells are considered to be neighbours if they share an edge A dead cell comes to life it if has exactly 2 living neighbours A live cell remains alive if it has 2 or 3 living neighbours A live cell dies if it has fewer than 2 or more than 3 living neighbours

EXPLANATION ::-

As the steps move following are the diagram which shows the growth of living and dead cells

white cells represent already living cells, black cells represent cells which become dead and the green cells represent cells which come to living, Here I have considered that the grid is infinite ant the corner and edge pentagons are connected with other pentagons which cant be shown in this picture.

(A) (6 marks) For the following initial population, compute enough generations to decide if the population will explode, go extinct, become periodic or migratory and state what you find.

SOL ::-

Final picture

So according to the computations the population will become stable and there will be a periodic patterning of these populations of dead cells growing.

B) Find an initial population that has the population from part (a) as the next gener- ation 10 marks You may use the attached sheet of grids to show your answers if you wish

SOL::

Behavior of the population is periodic as shown in figure 2 fourth cell.

    I am really struggling with how to approach this program. Conway's Game of life, whereby, 1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if caused by under-population. 2. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives on to the next generation. 3. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by over-population. 4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction. Submit...

    Hi, PLEASE I need the code in C programming, (USING THE SAME INPUT AND OUTPUT FORMAT DESCRIBED BELOW). Title: Game of Life Description In this assignment, you will code a simulation called "Game of Life". It is a very famous 'game' and the formed the basis of an entire field of simulation models called "cellular automata". Before continuing reading this assignment, I suggest you read a bit more about Game of Life at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway's_Game_of_Life or http://www.math.com/students/wonders/life/life.html (the latter also has...

    JAVA. Threading the Game of Life Write a Java program to implement the Game of Life, as defined by John Conway: Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbors dies, as if caused by under-population. Any live cell with two or three live neighbors lives on to the next generation. Any live cell with more than three live neighbors dies, as if by overpopulation. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbors becomes a live cell, as if by...

    Please use C++, thank you! The life game consists of a board with size of NxN cells and cells are occupied by creatures. Each cell can have at most one creature. The surrounding cells are called the neighbors of this cell Each game state is called "generation". The game progresses from one generation to the next according to the following rules: A creature that has more than 3 neighbors- dies of crowding. Its cell will be empty in the next...

    Objective: Write a program that implements the Game of Life cellular automata system invented by John Conway. 1. Create two game grids of size at least 50x50. These grid cells can be either Boolean or integer. In the following, I’ll refer to these as gridOne and gridTwo. 2. Set all cells in both grids to false. 3. Start by initializing gridOne. Allow the user to specify two different ways of initializing the grid: 1) by specifying a pattern file to...

    Task: Simulate the growth of a biological population. The Game of Life, invented by John H. Conway, is supposed to model the genetic laws for birth, survival, and death. Our implementation of the game will use a 2-dimensional array with 12 rows and 12 columns. Each cell of the array will hold either a 1 (an organism is present) or a 0 (no organism there). You will calculate 4 generations of the organisms’ birth, survival, and death. An organism’s neighbors...

    You are going to be implementing the classic computer science simulation, Conway's Game of Life. Conway's Life is played on a matrix of cells, kind of like a chess board but theoretically extending infinitely in every direction. Each individual cell in the matrix can either be alive or dead. A live cell in the matrix is shown in our simulation by printing an asterisk (*) to the screen. A dead cell is shown by leaving that area of the matrix...
