Answer #1

The annealed specimen will absorb more energy and quenched specimen will absorb less energy.

The high variation of impact energies is attributed due to presence of course pearlite in annealing and the least impact energy in quenching is due to formation of martensitic structure which is hard and brittle distorted body centered tetragonal structure.
