Question

Problem 24.4

For a particular scientific experiment, it is important to be completely isolated from any magnetic field, including the earth's field. The earth's field is approximately 50 ?T, but at any particular location it may be a bit more or less than this. A 1.00-m-diameter current loop with 200 turns of wire is adjusted to carry a current of 0.219A ; at this current, the coil's field at the center is exactly equal to the earth's field in magnitude but opposite in direction, so that the total field at the center of the coil is zero.Image for Problem 24.4 For a particular scientific experiment, it is important to be completely isolated from any magnet

Magnetic Field. I have no idea how to solve these questions, please help!!!! MAGNETIC FIELDS SUMMARY You will measure how the magnetic field, B, produced by a coil varies with the current, I, in the coil. From your measurements, you w calculate the permeability constant Ho. Lastly you w use a magnet to induce a voltage in the coil. THEORY The magnetic field Batthe center of a circular coil (solenoid) of radius R with N turns that carries a current...

A researcher would like to perform an experiment in a zero magnetic field, which means that the field of the earth must be canceled. Suppose the experiment is done inside a solenoid of diameter 1.0 m, length 3.2m , with a total of 5000 turns of wire. The solenoid is oriented to produce a field that opposes and exactly cancels the 52 ?T local value of the earth's field. What current is needed in the solenoid's wire?

Certain experiments must be performed in the absence of any magnetic fields. Suppose such an experiment is located at the center of a large solenoid oriented so that a current of I = 1.50 A produces a magnetic field that exactly cancels Earth's 4.50 ✕ 10−5 T magnetic field.
