Mental effects : A women puts herself in danger of mental distress due to severity of her decision . The following are the mental effects :-

- regret

- depression

- loss

- anxiety

- guilt

Physical effects are damage caused to the internal and external organs during abortion . The complications include:-

- uterine perforation

- uterine hemorrhage

- pelvic inflammatory disease

- endometriosis

- coexistent ectopic pregnancy

- delayed sequelae
