Bloom taxonomy is a conceptual framework helps to understand the different steps/levels in learning.It is also referred as Taxonomy of educational objectives. It consists of three domains:

1) Cognitive domain : is a knowledge based domain, involves the individual to recognize the concepts,terminology, or answers for the problem only by memories and not necessarily understanding the concepts. Using this cognitive domains individuals solve problems by implementing acquired knowledge and solutions.

2) Affective domain: is moe related to emotions - ability of an individual to understand and feel the pain / joy of others. It encourages the development of abstract knowledge.

3) Psychomotor domain : Is purely skill based domain, the individuals develops their ability to physically manipulate the instrument.

Fluid intake an essential component for healthy functioning of the human body. It is the amount of water consumed in a day. Drinking 8 glasses of water is recommended for a healthy adult. Lack of fluid contributes to dehydration, renal calculi, hypovolemic shock.

Nursing interventions:

- Nurses must maintain intake and output chart to identify fluid volume status of the patient.

- Check for patients level of consciousness as hypovolemia causes alteration in mental state.

- Check vitals (BP to detect hypotension ) secondary to fluid volume deficit.

- Assess for the signs of dehydration like weak pulses, sunken eyes,

- Monitor urine output and make sure urine output doesn't reach 30 ml/hr.

- Serum electrolytes to determine the fluid volume status.

COGNITIVE DOMAIN : (Fluid intake)

Knowledge : The patient will understand the importance of fluid intake. He can identify the early signs and symptoms of hypovolemia.

Comprehension : The patient can describe the relationship between fluid deficit and its complications.

Application: The patient will drink adequate water and maintain his fluid balance.

Evaluation: The patient understand the effectiveness of drinking adequate water in prevention complications.

AFFECTIVE DOMAIN:

Patient accepts the intake of water irrespective of his work or situation. The patient organizes a scheduled time to drink water at equal intervals.
