Number of gallons used for car = Number of miles/miles per gallon for car = 12000/25 = 480 gallons

Number of gallons used for truck = Number of miles/miles per gallon for truck = 12000/10 = 1200 gallons

If the car is upgraded, Number of gallons used = 12000/40 = 300 gallons

If the truck is upgraded, Number of gallons used = 12000/12.5 = 960 gallons

Savings for Car = 480 - 300 = 180 gallons per year

Savings for Truck = 1200 - 960 = 240 gallons per year
