a). As per the graph, f(2008) = 290, f(2000) = 90 so that [f(2008)-f(2000)]/(2008-2000) = (290-90)/8 = 200/8 = 25.

b). If 0 ≤ t ≤ 8, then S(t) = 2.48t2 +5.71t+84.0.
