Company owned means that an organisation solely owns the business, has total control over their markets, shares, investments and profits.
On the other hand opposite of Company-owned is Franchise. It is a system where only brand name is provided to other person, who in turn owns the business and operations. The brand /core company can only set few guidelines or standards but is not on complete authority of the outlet.
