Based on past records, the blood bank has created the probability distribution displayed in Figure 1. Note that X represents the number of donors that come to visit to donate blood in a 1-hour period.

6c. With the help of the answers in 6a and 6b we can say that mean is 26.3 per hr

Then if 10 donors can be attended by a nurse, approximately 3 nurses would be required to attend the donors as the mean is 26.3 , but the SD being large(7.63) , the staffing quotation is affected since 1 or 2 nurses will be idle if the no.of donors is less than 20 with the corresponding probability are also low and also there will be a suitation that more nurses will be required since there is high probability that 35 donors appear but only 30 can be attended by the available 3.Thus SD plays a crucial role in staffing suitation.
