Answer: Organizational behavior or organizational behavior is the " study of human behavior in organizational settings, the interface between human behavior and the organization, and the organization itself".

Organizational behavior research can be categorized in at least three ways:

✓ Individuals in organizations (micro-level)

✓ Work groups (meso-level)

✓ How organizations behave ( macro-level)

Research in and the teaching of organizational behavior primarily takes place in University management departments in colleges of business. Some times organizational behavior topics are taught in industrial and organizational psychology graduate programs.

IMORTANCE OF ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR :

• Organizational behavior helps in understanding organization and employees in a better way.

• Organizational behavior helps in motivating employees.

• Organizational behavior helps in improving industrial/ labor relations.

•Organizational behavior helps in predicting and controlling human behavior.

• Organizational behavior helps in effective utilization of human resources.

The environment of business is ever changing, because of this fact, the role of manager has become increasingly more important to builds better relationship by achieving people's organizational and social objectives, there for it is very important to study the organizational behavior, attitudes and behavior of individuals and group in organization.

Organizational behavior has become more popular as part of a larger trend towards data-driven decision making. Organizations have learned that, in order to compete, they need to make their HR- related decisions based on data. There are simply too many biases that individuals can fall prey to, which reduces organizational effectiveness.

As a research discipline, organizational behavior provides a variety of insights of how businesses should be managed, as well as how to research specific opportunities for improvement, and thus represents a powerful skill-set for the future.

Organizational behavior is popular as way to understand the behavior of persons in a large group. Our population is huge and people spend a large part of their lives in organizations, some of which are very large such as a corporation or a health insurance plan. Organizations make rules for behavior and offer benefits for behaving and producing in particular ways. Organizational scientists study how these group rules and benefits affect the productivity of participants, their accuracy, efficiency, effectiveness and satisfaction. All these measures are important to the ongoing health of an organization.
