Your original sample has a mass of 7.83g and you know the mass of two of the three elements in the compound, so just subtract to find the mass of carbon.

7.83 g - 0.290 g - 4.06 g = X grams of carbon

(X grams of carbon / 7.83 g) * 100% = mass % of carbon in sample

mass % of carbon in same * the mass of the sample (3.37g) = mass of carbon
