1 lb = 0.454 kg

therefore 110 lb = 0.454 x 110 kg

= 49.9 or 50 kg approx.

Now, since daily dose in per kg 15 mg, so for 50 kg body weight, the amount of Amikacin can be calculated as:

15 x 50 = 750 mg/day.

Part b. since daily dose is to be given three times a day, so per dose can be calculated by dividing daily dose by three time.

= 750 mg / 3

= 250 mg

Therefore single dose of amikacin will be 250 mg
