Answer #1

Eo for hydrogen = 13.6 eV

Given:

KE = 5.0 eV

Photon should have enough energy to provide ionisation energy and Kinetic energy.

Use:

E = Eo + KE

= 13.6 eV + 5.0 eV

= 18.6 eV

Answer: 18.6 eV
