Mean = Sum of observations / Number of observations
Now, as the actual data of the observations contained 80 which was typed as 8, the sum of observations would have reduced in place of actual sum of observations which would have been 72 (80 – 8) higher than the current sum of observations. Due to this, the mean would have reduced or decreased
