The absolute temperatures are, T, = [273 +20]K =293K T, = [273 + 250]K =523K The rms speed of an ideal gas is given by, 3RT H

Thus we have 1523K Pama2 = Vmax 293K = Vrms,1 (1.336) Thus, the new rms speed becomes 1.336 times faster.
