In alkenes, an addition of H-H across the carbon-carbon double bond in the presence of catalyst forms alkane product which is known as a hydrogenation reaction. It is an exothermic reaction in which syn addition takes places.
In hydrogenation reaction, the hydrogen molecule cleaves and is attached on the metal surface.
The alkene is also absorbed by the metal catalyst on its surface. The hydrogen atoms are transferred to alkene and then form carbon – hydrogen bonds. This hydrogenation reaction follows syn addition.

Therefore, the structural formula for the organic product is

Draw the product formed when cyclohexene is reacted with H2 in the presence of Pt. Note: If adding hydrogen atoms to a carbon atom, include all hydrogen atoms bonded to the carbon atom. Otherwise, the answer will be marked as incorrect.

Draw the major product formed when the following epoxide reacts with methanol in the presence of sulfuric acid. Use wedge/dash bonds, including H\'s at each stereogenic center, to show the stereochemistry of the product.
please help! When oleic acid reacts with hydrogen to form a saturated fatty acid, indicate the stoichiometry of the reaction and the product that is formed. If the stoichiometry of H2 or the product is not integral, enter a fraction (i.e. 3/2) |н> oleic acid + Reactants Product Some food products are "partially hydrogenated". This means that only a portion of the original unsaturated fatty acids have hydrogen added to saturate the original unsaturated bonds. When linoleic acid is partially...

In the boxes provided, draw the structures of the four intermediates and the organic product when the following compound is reacted with methanol in the presence of acid in a Fischer esterification reaction. You don’t have to show the important resonancestructures.I need to see the mechanism to get the answers.
