Answer #1

Ans 1

June has ordered iv dextrose 5%@ of 83ml/hr

We will have to calculate ml/min.

Ml/min =83/60

=1.3833ml/min.

Drop factor is 15,means 1ml consist by 15 drops

So

1.3833 ml contain drops=1.3833x15

Infusion drop rate =21 drop/min

Ans 2

500mg drugs added in 50 ml dextrose and infusion time is 20 min

And we have to calculate drop/min

=Drop/min=total volume (ml)xdrop factor/time in min.

=50x10/20

=25 drop/ min

Ans 3

Dave has ordered 1000ml saline for 12 hours

Ml/hr=total volume in ml/hours

=1000/12

=83.33ml/hr

Ans 4

Lucky has ordered heparine 800unit/hr and total dilution is 500ml with 50000 unit hep.

Drug /ml=50000/500

=100unit /ml

Infusion rate =required infusion per hr./drug/ml

=800/100

=8ml/hr
