*An ethical dilemma can occur when two or more ethical principles are in conflict and there is no obviously "correct" decision.

Good ethical decision-making skills with a good approach to patient care can determine the quality and safety of patient care.As the largest health care workforce, nurses apply their knowledge, skills, and experience to care for the various and changing needs of patients. A large part of the demands of patient care is centered on the work of nurses. When care falls short standards, maybe because of faulty or poor decision-making skills, resource allocation such as workforce shortages and lack of needed medical equipment or lack of appropriate policies and standards, nurses shoulder much of the responsibility.

Due to the faulty or poor decision-making skills may lead to errors, particularly adverse events that result in a substandard level of care to the patient.

By developing proper ethical decision-making skills with effective teamwork and communication and considering the cultural safety of the patient by proving patient-centered care and using evidence-based practice ends in quality and safety of patient care thus improve the patient satisfaction without developing any complications thus improve our work satisfaction with self-confidence furthered the quality and safety of patient care.

The roles and responsibilities of the nurse have changed over the years. The nurses have improved their professional characteristics and competencies according to the changing needs of society. To deliver a high safety and quality health care the nurses have improves their roles and responsibilities in their profession as developing ethical decisionmaking skills and promote the safety of the patient, risk management, quality assurance, case management, clinical trials coordinator and patient care manager etc and as well as working with the interdisciplinary teams and driving evidence-based practice
