As of 2013, as many as 40 million American citizens were without healthcare coverage. When an uninsured individual seeks medical services at a medical facility, who do you think should be responsible for covering the cost of this individual’s care? The government? The individual? The healthcare facility? A third-party provider? What are the potential consequences of giving that responsibility to your selection?

In my opinion, the individual himself should be responsible for the cost of the healthcare. This is because the individual had the option to take insurance and plan for healthcare which was not done for whatever reason. If this decision is imposed, the individuals will not remain without Health Insurance and this will put less burden on the economy. The government cannot be held responsible for healthcare expenses of an uninsured individual, since it will be unfair to put the additional cost burden on the well planned individuals of the economy. Also the Health Care facility cannot be held responsible for the cost since their primary motive is to provide Health Care and incurring additional costs will make them unprofitable which will impact the quality of service. Similarly third party providers are not responsible for uninsured individuals since they will incurr additional costs for no benefit in return.
