Progressive era refers to such an era where there is continuous social , economic , political reforms going on that aim at raising standard of life both in economic and welfare or all round development sense . Education is the most important step towards development . We know that : " The hands that rocks the cradle rules the world " .

Women education and development is an integral part of overall development of a nation . In the words of Brigham Young when we educate a woman , we educate a whole generation . Education helps them to fulfill their goals and beome financially independent . They become responsible citizens and participate in politics and other fields . Nurses , teachers , women are excelling in every other field in this modern era . They also contribute in national income and GDP growth .

Education for women has not only helped them become financially independent but also helped the progressive era by bringing certain social reforms and new ideas .
