What are the implications if HIPAA legislation for the researcher who wishes to collect data from patients in a health care organization (one paragraph)?

Privacy, anonymity and informed consent are the major concern regarding the research studies. The HIPPA legislation states about the health information of the the individual and how it has to be protected.

The implications would be were the researcher would be knowing and following the privacy and confidentiality in protecting and generalizing the results appropriately. It includes the research study influence on patient, ethical institutional review board, recruitment of subjects, obtaining consent, access to the data, de identification of the data, authorization and consent in disclosing the data, the processing, transmission and storage of data.
