Over weight, obesity and healthy

Overweight is the weight above BMI (body mass index) and obesity is a disorder involving excessive body fat which increase the health problem.

Over weight and obesity may potential to developing health problems such as hypertension, heart disease, cancer, kidney disease, diabetes etc. These ara coes under non communicable disease and it leading to life threatening situation.

Overweight and obesity measure in terms of BMI. It is weight in kg to height in meter square.

Normal weight : BMI 18 5 to 24.9

Over weight :25 to 29.9

Obesity :30or higher

Another important aspect is waist size ie women with waist size more than 35inches and men more than 40inches have higher chance of developing disease related obesity.

Obesity is caused by consuming more calories such as fatty and sugary food and also physical inactivity.

Studies suggests that risk of developing non communicable disease due to obesity. Most of adults with diabetes and heart disease are overweight or obese.

It can be corrected by consume balanced calories recommended by dietician and take up activities such as walking, jogging, swimming etc.
