All workers' compensation agencies have Experience Rating programs. Explain the main purpose and goals of an Experience Rating Program, as well as the qualifications for participation. Experience Rating is based on the presumption that your future losses are likely to be similar to those you incurred in the past.

It is an incentive to the employer.If he invests in injury prevention and return to work programs, he will have a safe workplace with few work injuries and less lost time at work.

Purpose : Experience rating is based on the idea that employers should be charged a premium that accurately reflects their risks. Experience rating plans compare employers to other employers in the same industry group.

Qualification : The applicability of the the Experience Rating Program varies from state to state. Its generally based on no of years since the commencement of the business. Additionally, States also require a minimum amount of premium within a certain number of years.Newly established firms don't qualify.

I Would like to suggest the following safety incentive Programs. 1.Balance between reducing injuries and encouraging activities, depending on the company's "safety culture" and objectives. 2.Companies spends all the budgeted money into the people who are safe.It should involve everyone in the safety process. 3. Generally these programs will not be understood by all levels of people specially the lower level, it is preferable to keep the program simple, and conduct sessions to explain what the program is about.
