Ordered antibiotic dose 600mg IM 6 hourly daily

Dilution 2 ml of sterile water for reconstitution.

The injection contains 2.5ml per 1gm.

1000mg \div 2.5 ml = 400mg/ml

400mg\times 1.5 =600mg

We need 600mg So, 1.5ml of antibiotics.

Then we need to dilute it with 2 ml of SW as per instruction. So, the total volume now is 1.5ml +2ml = 3.5ml

Total we will administer 3.5ml of the drug.

After reconstitution, there will be

600mg \div 3.5ml = 171.42 mg (170 mg per ml)

Here, 1.5 ml of water displacement by powder
