Answer #1

The LTCs are dealing with the elderly population who are no longer able to take care of themselves or whose adult siblings are not fully able to support them. Ltcs serve them in their groomings daily or in their daily look after etc. In a nut shell along with providing assisted living LTC F have professional care by RN for their medication management, After hospital care,Dementia management etc

Actually in a LTCF one elderly feel much dignified than depending on someone else for his her daily maintenance and also can enjoy professionally managed services in stead of being alone in home.

One preventive LTCF measure say prevention of infection. Ltcf has to deliver some measures for prevention of infection.

E.g.......Hand hygeine(WHO hand wash)

.............cough and sneezing etiquette for prevention of RTI

..........PPE for donning personal protective equipment

............keeping safe space between residents to avoid overcrowding as aged patients due to their compromised or low immune status may contain different infections like uti, rti, abscess breach in skin and more chance of infection in diabetic patients. So to keep safe both for staffs and residents Infection control is an essential preventive function.

Different services already mentioned are also with diabetic care, congestive heart failure care etc

In my opinion the ltcf should offer mental health care for the of the adults suffering from anxiety, depression etc.
