Nursing interventions for restless leg syndrome.

       * Provide adequate exercises and massages to limbs to reduce unpleasant

          sensations.

       * Instruct the patient to avoid the use of alcohol,caffine and nicotine products

         which will precipitate the syndrome.

       * Prepare a routine time period for the patient to maintain sleeping pattern.

       * Provide a peaceful environment to induce sleep.

       * Provide a shower or hot bath before sleep to maintain a normal sleep pattern.

       * Avoid use of drugs which precipitate symptoms of restless leg syndrome like

         antiemetics,antidepressants etc.

       * Iron deficiency is a cause of symptoms of RLS so administer iron supplements

         as per physicians order.

       * Give dopaminergic drugs to reduce symptoms of RDS as per physicians order.
