NIGHTINGALES ENVIRONMENT THEORY :

Florence Nightingale is referred to as "MOTHER OF NURSING", as she rendered her services purely on humanity basis. She is also called as "LADY WITH THE LAMP", the name came after the amendable care provided by her during Crimean war holding a lamp in her hand while doing care for the wounded. Nightingales environment theory mainly focus on the development of nursing profession and developing a healthy life to the patients. Patients who are suffering with illness and sufferings are prone to deaths and impairments due to lack of availability resources in the environment.

This theory explains provision of health care to patients within the available resources in the environment. While providing nursing care, nurses has to follow aseptic techniques/measures to decrease the spread of infections into the environment. Basic nursing care includes:- Wound dressing, clean beds for patients, safe disposal of bodily contamination, hand washing techniques, personal hygiene, food hygiene, safety precautions will promote safe well being and reduce the risk of diseases.

ROY ADAPTATION MODEL OF NURSING :

Roy theory was developed in the year of 1976 by sister callista, which focus mainly on person health, environment and nursing. Heath depends on environmental factors which alters health of a person, after the occurance of a disease care should be provided to decrease the spread of infection. In simple words, micro organism invading person - develops signs of disease - spread of infection from person to environment - contamination of environment with micro organism - needs nursing care to prevent further spread of infections.

On nursing care a wide variety of concepts has explained under this model, focusing on continum care for the patients, maintaining healthy relations with patients by a nurse, and patient centered care. While providing the nursing care it is important to set the goals, techniques in nursing care, implementation of the activities and evaluation or final output of health status of a person are discussed in this model.
