When we take water in a glass and add sugar to it, we get a sugar solution. Here, water is called solvent and sugar is called solute and upon their mixing the formed product is called solution.
A solute is a substance that gets dissolved in a liquid called solvent. A solvent is a liquid in which solute dissolves. Solvent and solute together produces solution. Components of solution are uniformly dispersed throughout the solution. So, solution is a homogeneous mixture of both solute and solvent.
Examples: Solute can be salt, sugar, solvent can be water or alcohol.
