Dissociative disorder it is a disorder of multiple areas of the mental functioning. It disturbs the normal functioning of memory, identity, perception and consciousness. it can be happen in mild state in our daily life when we engage in reading a book or daydream and lose track of surroundings.
Dissociative disorder is of three types
• Dissociative identity disorder
• Dissociative amnesia
• Depersonalization/ derealization disorder
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is also called multiple personality disorder. This means that the individual behaves in two or more distinct personality states. This is also characterized by inability to recall personal information. The alternative identities are very different from the original character.
