Problem 1

In the following problems, it is assumed that the bearing has but one row of balls. A working year will be taken as 250 days.

A 205 bearing is rotating 870 rpm. Find the life in hours and years at 8 hours per day for radial loads of 400, 450, 500, 550, and 600 pounds. Plot the results and note how quickly the expected life is decreased for even nominal increases in the load.
