Decibel attenuation of a microwave oven wall. Repeat the previous MATLAB exercise but for the 1-mm thick stainless steel (σ = 1.2 MS/m, μr = 500, and εr = 1) wall of a microwave oven, and frequencies f1 = 2 GHz, f2 = 2.2 GHz, f3 = 2.45 GHz (standard frequency for microwave cooking), f4 = 2.7 GHz, and f5 = 3 GHz. In addition to f and AdB, calculate and print-to-file (to file microwave.txt) the one-percent depth of penetration (δ1%) into the wall as well, where δ1% is defined as the depth into a conductor at which the electric field intensity decreases to 1% of the initial value and it comes out to be δ1% = δ ln 100 ≈ 4.6 δ [δ is given by the first expression in Eqs.(7.20)].
