Eating disorder is a serious issue that is mostly linked with the psychological changes. This is caused due to stress, extreme concern about the body shape and size. There are three clinical manifestations of eating disorder

• Anorexia nervosa

• Binge eating

• Bulimia nervosa.

Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder that is characterized by extreme weight loss due to restricting energy intake, fear of weight gain and obesity.

There are three diagnostic criteria for treating anorexia nervosa:

1. Restriction of energy intake leading to low body weight than required.

2. Fear of weight gain even slim and low body weight and restrict food intake.

3. Psychological behavior that they are gaining weight on whole body or some parts of the body.

Binge eating is an eating disorder of recurrent overeating for a period of less than every two hours and is not followed by the compensatory behavior.

Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder that involves recurrent episodes of binge eating followed by some weight loss precautionary methods called compensatory behavior. Bulimia means ox like hunger. Thus it is a disorder of overeating. This can be triggered by stress, loneliness, depression and boredom.
