  • while administring nitroglycerin , always check the patient blood pressure and pulse. because blood pressure can drop suddenly after the sinlge dose itself. Monitroing of vital signs is necsaary to monitor the hemodynamic effects of nitroglycerin.
  • doctor's order =5 mcg/min
  • stock in hand = 25mg in 250 ml
  • first convert mcg/min tomg/hour = 5/1000*60=0.3mg/hr
  • dosage = doctors order * volume/ stock in hand = 0.3*250/25=3ml/hr.
