Using the Health Belief Model, provide examples of each of the four constructs for someone whose blood pressure readings have just recently shown numbers considered to be high.
Health Belief Model is the framework by using those population/patients/individuals are be motivated to modify life style or apply recommended action for getting positive health or avoid negative health. It is all about upgrading health behavior. There are 6 constructs .
1. Perceived Susceptibility : it is one' s belief that it is not good for health to have High Blood Pressure.
2. Perceived Severilty : it is one's believe that how can a disease and its consequences be sever . In the present case , patients own asessment that high BP is harmful for health. It can results in arterial stiffning, nephrppathy, retinopathy, increased risk of heart attack etc.
above 2 can be grouped in one Construct known as "Perceived Threat"
3. Perceived Benefits : it is one's believe that after modifying lifestyle or taking recommened action, how much benefit he would get. In this case patient assess that if he reduce weight, do regular exercise, reduce sodium and fat in diet, decrease smoking and alcohol, reduce stress by meditation/Yoga would decrease his Blood pressure to normal.
4. Perceived Barrier : it is one's assessment of the obstacles whose could prevent him to modify lifestyle or taking action. In present case lack of enough time or any other physical conditon prevent him to exercise, addiction of smoking and alcohol prevent him to abstinence from cigarette and alcohol, his job prevent him to reduce stress, lack of time prevemt him to do Yoga/Meditation etc.
above 4 are the basic constructs of the health belief model.
further are has been added.
5. Cues to Action : it is trigger by which patient is motivated to take action that is modifying life style. In present case , he, whose Blood is high, are motivated to modify lifestyle such as, do exercise, reduce fat and salty diet, loose weight , reduce smoking and alcohol consumption etc. It is done by displaying posters, by TV programme etc.
6. Self- efficay : it is one's assessment that how much he can modify life style or take action. In this case he assess that how much he could do exercise even having lack of time, how much time attention he could give to the meditation/Yoga for reducing stress. How could he control on his desire to smoke and take alcohol etc.
So above all are the Constructs of Health belief Model.

Health Belief Model Using the scenario below, (1) put the number attached to each piece of information in the correct 'boxes' on the HBM model below, (2) based on the information provided, rate perceived threat and expected net gains by circling ONE of the possible answers, (3) decide the likelihood of behavior change by circling ONE of the possible answers and explaining why you chose that answer (.e. justify your answer). Then, answer the questions below. (15 points) Devin, lung...
Explain the three inventory control models and the driving factor in each model. Provide examples for each one using current companies.
We are interested in a study comparing differences in mean reduction in blood pressure across four treatments: placebo, community health worker, new drug, and a combined therapy of community health worker + new drug combo. We fit a model to predict reduction in blood pressure using treatment. Which of the following is NOT an assumption for this model? i.) The association between treatment and reduction in blood pressure must be linear. ii.) The observations must be independent. iii.) The variance...

Respond to two of the four discussion questions. You’ll want to provide a thoughtful, 100+ word response for each of the discussion questions that you select. Think of these as ‘essay questions’. In your response, clearly demonstrate an understanding of the concepts from the readings and lecture notes relating to the topics. Incorporate examples in your explanation that demonstrates your understanding the material. Questions: 1. Describe the five factors of production. What two factors of production create wealth for society?...
Community Health Newsletter Students will be responsible for developing a community health newsletter that will provide education on a chronic illness that is affecting clients/patients at their field internship site OR a topic you would like to address. Treat this assignment as if you were going to hand this to patients/clients at your field internship site. This needs to be ONE page and no longer. The following information should be included in your newsletter: 1. Title of your newsletter 2....

4. In a process development study on yield, four factors were studied, each at two levels: time (A), concentration (B), pressure (C) and temperature (D). A single replicate of a 24 design was run, and the resulting are shown in the Table below a. Construct a normal probability plot of the effect estimates. Which factors appear to have large effects? b. Conduct an analysis of variance using the normal probability plot in part (a) for guidance in forming an error...

You have a grid of 4x4 cells which is filled by numbers from 1 to 8. Each number appears twice in the grid. The purpose of the Memory Game is to find the matching numbers. To start the game, Player 1 chooses two cells to uncover the numbers behind them. If the numbers match, player 1 gets to go on and uncover two more numbers. If the numbers don't match, player...
