Q1: The renal capsule :

1) surrounds the kidney (right answer ).   The renal capsule is a tough fibrous layer surrounding the kidney.

2) outlines the trigone (wrong)    The trigone is a triangular portion of the bladder floor bordered (ventrally) by the internal urethral opening or bladder neck and (dorsolaterally) by the orifices of the right ureter and left ureter.

3) lines the urinary bladder (wrong)   Lined by mucosa, submucosa, muscularis, and serosa or adventitia.

4) lines the tubules (wrong)   visceral inner layerformed by specialized cells called podocytes, and a parietal outer layer composed of simple squamous epithelium.

Q 2 : activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system :

1) causes albuminuria (wrong) it actually decreases.

2) causes hematuria (wrong) because it leads towater reabsorption that is fluid retention in body.

3) reabsorbs k+ and eliminates Na+ in the urine ( wrong) causes increased sodium retention by the kidneys,

4) expands blood volume (right) because it causes increased sodium retention by the kidneys, which leads to reduced water loss into the urine and therefore blood volume expansion. RAAS activation occurs during heart failure, which leads to fluid retention in the body.

Q3: which of the following should not normally be found in the glomerular filtrate?

Normal filtrate contains of water, glucose, amino acids, urea, creatinine, and solutes such as sodium chloride, calcium, potassium and bicarbonate ions and Any small molecules such as water, glucose, salt (NaCl), amino acids, and urea pass freely into Bowman's space, but cells, platelets and large proteins do not. So albumin.

.1) potassium

2) water

3) albumin (right answer)

4) sodium

Q :pyuria is indicative of :It can be a sign of a bacterial urinary tract infection.

1) excess secretion of aldosterone

2) glomerular damage

3) deficiency of ADH

4) infection (right answer)

Q :the trigone, detrusor and rugae are all related to the :

1) nephron unit

2) renal pelvis

3) bowman's capsule

4) urinary bladder (right answer)

The trigone is a smooth triangular region of the internal urinary bladder formed by the two ureteric orifices and the internal urethral orifice. The detrusor muscle, also detrusor urinae muscle, muscularis propria of the urinary bladder. When the bladder is empty, the mucosa has numerous folds called rugae,
