Answer #1

1. Option b is false

Renal pyramids are the cone shaped structures located in the medulla region of kidney. They comprise of tubules, collecting ducts and they empty the urine into calyces.

2. Option d is correct.

Aldosterone is a adrenal gland hormone which acts on DCT and collecting ducts of nephrons. At collecting ducts, it stimulates sodium reabsorption and potassium secretion.

3. Option a is correct.

About 65% of glomerular ultrafiltrate is reabsorbed in proximal convoluted tubule of nephrons and it goes back to our blood.

4. Option D is correct.

ADH hormone is released by posterior pituitary and it acts on the DCT and collecting duct for the retention of water.

5. Option a is correct.

Osmosis is the movement of solvent molecules like water from its high water potential to lower water potential through semi permeable membrane.

And reabsorption of water is occurring through the membrane in nephron so the answer is osmosis.

6. Option a and b are correct.

Plasma oncotic pressure is the pressure due to proteins found in plasma of blood. This pressure opposes the filtration rate.

Glomerular hydrostatic pressure also opposes the filtration rate because it is due to fluid in capsule and the wall of capsule.
