2. Set piont in regard to individual weight

Set point theory states that each individual's  body is programmed to a range of weight, and it will fight or try to regulate that weight range. Set point is different for each individual.

Relation to diet and exercise: According to Set point theory a feedback control mechanism is regulating the body weight of a person. When a person start dieting and exercise for weight loss, he may loss few pounds of weight, but his body will slowly start to fight for the weght gain by changing your appetite and metabolism. That's why many people who are in a weight control diet and exercise , have more hungry and urges of binge eating. A healthy diet and exercise maintains a person's healthy body weight ( set point body weight).

3. Components of a positive health model for weight management

The main components of a Positive health model for weight management are Heathy diet or good nutrition, regular physical exercise or activity and positive behaviour modification.

* Good nutrition or a healthy diet is essential for weight loss. For a person who need to loss his weight in a healthy way, has to avoid all junk food, processed food and should consume less calorie and fat rich diets.

* Regular physical exercise helps to maintain the healthy body weight. Minimum of 30 minutes time for exercises have to keep daily for healthy weight loss. Not only scheduled exercise but also daily chores can be done by a person who needs to loss the weight such as climbing stairs, lawn moving, vigorous cleaning, walking etc.

* Positive behaviour modification : Develop healthy behaviours or habits. Avoid non healthy habits such as smoking, drinking, consumption of junk foods etc. Instead cultivate good behaviour in relation to health such as adequate rest and sleep, good hygiene, stress management interventions etc.

Basic principles of a Sound food plan

* Nutrition adequacy and balance: Proper balance should be maintained in the diet in terms of different nutrients such as Carbohydrate( energy production), protein ( body building and repair of tissues) , fats, vitamins, minerals. These nutrients should be in sufficient amount and proper proportion in the diet.

* Control of Calories: Calorie allowance in the diet must be based on the amount of energy expenditure an individual has. Input of Calories should match with physical activities.  

* Variety: diet plan should include a variety of foods as possible.

* Moderation: The diet plan of an individual should not be in excessive restriction or excessive allowance of certain nutrient. for example: not too many calories or too few calories.
