Nurses are the healthcare workers who spend more time in providing care to the patients . For this they need to have a good therapeutic relationship so that both patient and health care worker works effectively for early discharge . The patient must be happy in the hospital stay then only he or she will allow to conduct the procedure . This is normal and also practical when we are satisfied by the care then only we also allow for further conduct. Some of the nursing interventions to improve the patient experience in hospital are :-
Keeping Noise Down
Attending to call bells promptly
Keeping lights dimmed during night times
Ensuring patient safety
Regularly visit and update patients with treatment goals and progress
#. Methods to explain what the medication is for before administering it are :-
First of all the nurses should have a good therapeutic relationship with their patients then only they listen to them.
Before administering the medications ,the nurse must ensure the 6R's , explain what the drugs action because it's the right to know by the patient for what the medication is being given. The nurse must explain in layman terms what the drug action is , why it's being given , what will be its side effects , what are the warning signs to be assessed for , what to do in warning signs , how to reach the physician . All these should be communicated in a language which is understood by the patient and if they don't understand the usual language then use of a translator will be appropriate .
