1. Premarin is medication contains conjugated estrogen(Mixture of hormone estrogen), Estrogen is a female hormone which secreted by ovaries.

It is mainly used for hormonal replacement, Menopause, Osteoporosis and any other hormonal disturbances in the female.

2.. Premarin is a hormonal medication, it can interact with a lot of medications. Tell the client to don't use any over the counter medication without a prescription.

This medication increases the risk of blood clots in the blood vessels, advise the client to avoid any other trigger related to the blood clot. Ex - Smoking

Grapes and Grapefruit juice may interact with Premarin medication so, advice to avoid it.

3. Adverse effects of this medication include

  • Severe vaginal bleedings
  • Pelvic pain
  • Abdominal pain
  • Indigestion and constipation
  • Symptoms of Heart attack
  • Symptoms of Stroke
  • Jaundice

4. There are 2 Black box warnings for  Premarin

  • Heart disease and Stroke (Because it increases the risk of blood clots in the blood vessels)
  • Uterine cancer (It is a hormonal medication, it may cause changes in uterine linings.

5. To reduce the symptoms of osteoporosis She is taking an oral calcium supplement with Vitamin D.
