Drop factor 60gtt/ml

The formula of drop calculation = (Total volume in ml \div Time in minutes) \times drop factor

1500ml = 720min x 60gtt/ml = 125drops/min

Answer - 125 drops per minute.

B. 150 ml LR over 20 ml per hour.

Drop factor 60gtt/ml

20ml - 60min x 60gtt/ml = 20drops/min

Answer - 20 drops/minute

C. 1000 ml solution over 150 ml per hour.

Drop factor 60gtt/ml

150ml = 60min x 60gtt/ml = 150drops/min

Answer - 150 drops/minute

D. Aminophylline 500 mg in 250 ml D5W to run over 8 hours.

Drop factor 15 gtt/ml

500ml = 480min x 15gtt/ml = 15.6drops/min(16 drops)

Answer - 16 drops/minute
